Joanne Weir

Joanne Weir is a San Francisco-based 4th-generation chef and James Beard award-winning cookbook author. Her background includes cooking at Chez Panisse after receiving a Master Chef Diploma with Madeleine Kamman in France. She is also the Executive Producer for several award-winning PBS Television series, her current, a 52-part TV series filmed in Italy, Greece, Spain, Morocco, France, Austria, and Hungary, is called Plates & Places and airs nationally on PBS Television and CREATE. Additionally, Joanne is in pre-production for 10 new episodes,-- Joanne Weir’s Sonoma Table, shot exclusively on location, focusing on real-life food solutions. Author of 17 cookbooks, Joanne’s most recent is a food memoir, Kitchen Gypsy: Recipes and Stories from a Lifelong Romance with Food, and features a foreword by Alice Waters. Her book,-- Tequila, a Guide to Flights, Types, Cocktails & Bites is the impetus for Joanne and partners to open 2 restaurants, Copita, in Sausalito and San Jose, California.
